And the nominees are…

It’s that time of the year again when the Hollywood elite (and the occasional European import) get all flustered in hopes of hearing their name called during the annual Emmy Nom announcements. This year’s hosts, Breaking Bad‘s lovably junkie Aaron Paul who was joined by Neill Patrick Harris after House of Cards star Kate Mara pulled out last minute, went to air with a list of top-notch talent who will be politely clawing for the gold statues come September 22nd. But while the nominees include a swath of new and old faces, controversy is starting to spread around the names not included.

The biggest snub possibly going to fan favourites Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter who are currently on-screen in the final season of Dexter while fellow HBO alums True Blood and Treme also fell by the wayside. Joining them in the no-love club is AMC’s The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy and one of this years break out dramas The Killing.

And if you think the judges simply didn’t respond to fan-boy genre shows, then think again with the two series garnering the most noms being Ryan Murphy’s supernatural frightener American Horror Story: Asylum (17 in total) and HBO’s powerhouse fantasy Game of Thrones (pulling 16 nominations).
